Kate Moss weds musician Jamie Hince

Supermodel Kate Moss married her musician boyfriend Jamie Hince, of indie rock band The Kills, on Friday, 1 July. The ceremony was held in a small country church in Southrop, Gloucestershire, and featured quite a few celebrity guests, including fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell. It was followed by a three-day extravagant party at the supermodel's estate, which is located in the area. Moss wore a sleeveless John Galliano gown, while the groom was dressed in an Yves Saint Laurent suit and leather boots.

The 37-year old supermodel was surrounded by 15 ivory-clad young bridesmaids, among them her eight-year-old daughter Lila Grace. Hince's bandmate in The Kills, Alison Mosshart, served as best woman. The church wedding was followed by a three-day festival-like reception at Moss's Cotswolds mansion. According to reports, the guest list was packed with celebrities, including Naomi Campbell, Jude Law, Stella McCartney, Sadie Frost, and Mick Jones of The Clash.

Despite the large number of stars the supermodel's wedding brought to the small English village, residents of the area had all the reason to be angry, as the roads surrounding the church were blocked by police and even locals had to use permits to get through to their homes. However, a group of people did assemble outside St. Peter's Church in Southrop to take a look at the bride and her party when they emerged from the church, after the ceremony.

Kate Moss wore an ivory dress designed by John Galliano, a friend of the supermodel, who is currently on trial in France for making racist comments. The groom was dressed in a pale grey suit, designed by Stefano Pilati of Yves Saint Laurent. Famous photographer Mario Testino took the wedding pictures, which will be published in Vogue magazine.

Kate Moss became famous in her teens as a super-thin fashion model. During the early 90s, she popularised the heroin chic style and became an undisputed fashion icon. Moss has made regular headlines throughout her career with her party-oriented, rock'n'roll lifestyle, as well as her tumultuous relationships, including that with rocker Pete Doherty. She and Hince met in 2007 and, according to reports, became engaged in 2008. Jamie Hince is a British guitarist and half of indie rock duo The Kills, which he formed in 2000, together with American singer Alison Mosshart. Their fourth and latest studio album "Blood Pressures" was released at the beginning of April.
