Hacker attack on the CIA’s website
The hacker group Lulz Security continued the electronic attacks on the high level American institution. After they broke the Senate website, Wednesday, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had the website down. The cause is the Lulz Security cyber attack. At first, the website couldn’t be accessed from New York to San Francisco. Later, the impossibility spread to Bangalore to London and much later the website access wasn’t continue. This new events are showing that the hackers strategy is to broke into the electronic systems of the high structures of the country. After the economical wave, in which they broke the Sony Corp network, and that was the biggest hacker attack of all times, it was followed by News Corp and U.S. Public Broadcasting System.

According to the CIA spokesman, the experts are making an investigation in this moment. According to the IT specialists, the hackers from this group aren’t interested to steal and use top secret information. They are only trying to prove that the security branch of the websites is weak and this is the reason why they are trying the top Institution. Jeffrey Carr, the author of some Cyber books, said that the people that are behind these attacks only want to steal the attention and nothing more. They want to prove the authorities that the security measures of the online system are weak and they can be broke any time. The CIA officials said that Lulz Security announced that they broke only the website www.cia.gov. They didn’t say anything about the internal system and the database. In the expert’s opinion, the hackers from Lulz Security are a group formed by people worldwide.
In this moment, the FBI and other police structures are looking for the people behind this destructive hacker group. In the same time with the series of the electronic intrusion, the website of the International Monetary Fund was broke too, but Lulz Security group didn’t say anything about it. Another intrusion very important was the Lockheed Martin Corp one that also wasn’t confirmed by this group yet. The biggest destructive action of this kind was the Sony attack. The PlayStation network was broke and the information of almost 77 million people was discovered by the attackers. Their addresses, birth dates, passwords, credit cards, were out in the open. Sony didn’t responded as quickly as the user wanted and they cut the internet connection without letting the customers know about that. This created a big disappointment into the users and Sony lost a lot of person that trusted their services.
