First helicopter attack in Syria to disperse the protesters
From the beginning of March, several Syrian are protesting against the politic regime of the President Bashar al-Assad. The Syrian Army took violence measures against the protesters, but Friday it was for the first time when they got air measures in order to disperse the pro-democracy protesters. This is a new bloody chapter in the three-month war of the Syrian people with the regime of the President al-Assad. This assault comes after in the entire country there were protests and the Government wants to show no intimidation even though the voices that are asking the country’s democracy are starting to multiply. According to a witness of the Human Right authority from Syria, the air attack started in the north-west side of the country, after the ground army killed five protesters.

He said that the air attack was made with five helicopters that flew over Maarat al-Numaan and in the moment that they fired the crowd they dispersed it. The people searched for a shelter in their houses, under bridges and in every place that they considered safe, but even though the Syrian protesters were leaving the place, the machineguns didn’t stopped for hours, the witness continued, under the cover of the anonymity. The incident was showed by the Syrian television, that didn’t have any detail about the helicopter military attack, but instead they presented the ground violence of which they said there were the anti-governmental actions. More, they said that an ambulance helicopter came at the scene and the crew was badly hurt. The International Community is separated in their opinions. While France, Great Britain, Portugal and Germany are asking the officials to sentence the President’s acts, Russia said they don’t approve this measure.
The White House position is a very firm one. The American officials condemn the Assad Government because of the violence and more, according to the Administration’s statement, the direction of the country is an extremist and dangerous one. In Syria, the foreign reporters aren’t allowed to do their jobs and to enter the country. More, the Syrian media is reporting the country’s violence as the anti-governmental actions. They describe those protestors as armed and violence Syrian people. Other witness said that the protest was a peaceful one, the Government forces didn’t used the force at all, but when they saw the protest’s dimensions, they started to fire in order to disperse the crowd that was increasing. From the Friday protest, more than 33 people were killed.
