Muamamr Gadhafi’s son is not dead, Silvio Berlusconi said
The Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said in an official statement on Wednesday that Muamamr Gadhafi’s son, Seif al-Arab, is not dead. He said that the Libyan Government’s statement regarding the killing of al-Arab, the 29 years old son of Muamamr Gadafi, during a NATO raid in April 30 is purely „propaganda”. He said that the coalition is not having any information regarding al-Arab. More, he added that Gadafi’s son is no longer in Libya and he lives in another country, but he didn’t gave any other details. Berlusconi denied also the news regarding the three grandsons of Gadafi. The Chief of the Italian Government was invited to a TV show and the ANSA press agency published several statements from the interviw. He said that the Italian secret services have strong information regarding the Gadafi’s son and he knows for sure those facts.

The Tripoli Government said that Seif al-Arab, three grandsons, Seif (two years old), Carthage (two years old) and Mastoura (four month old) and several friends and neighbors were killed during a NATO raid on the Libya capital on April 30. Speaking about the NATO operations against the Libyan militants, Berlusconi welcomed the decisive part of the United States. This interview came with only two days before the partial municipal elections, a poll that is very risky for him because it might mean losing the power toward Milano, the most important town from the economic point of view. The AFP reporters spoke with NATO officials about this matter but they haven’t confirmed Berlusconi’s variant and they didn’t denied also the deaths. Silvio Berlusconi’s coalition lost ground in the local elections and it was forced to step back from Milano.
The right-centre official Letizia Moratti lost the election for this important town in front of Giuliano Pisapia, the left politic candidate, the party that won the elections for the first time in 20 years. According to the analysts, Berlusconi is the one to blame for this defeat because he couldn’t convince the people from his native town to vote his favorite candidate. The Italian press wrote that ”Milano is turning its back on Berlusconi”, „Berlus-crack” or „Berlusconi in shock after Milano’s result”. More, they said that the elections aren’t a defeat for the party’s candidate but for the Italian Prime Minister, that receives a strong defeat that could be judged both at the politic and personal level, journalist Massimo Franco wrote for Corriere della Sera.
