Toyota's profit down with 52 percent
In an official announcement, Toyota Moto Corp said that until Wednesday the company had a fall with 52 percent. This comes after the car producer can't deal with the demand of the machine part because the damages produced after the 9 magnitude earthquake from 11 March aren't established yet. This is a very hard year for the biggest auto constructor in the world because lots of the demands are postponed. The President Akio Toyoda said that no earlier from June they will have the possibility to deal with almost 70 percent of the demand before the earthquake. This is an early deadline because at the time of the natural disaster, the company's officials said that probably in the end of this year Toyota will return at its normal production activity.
Toyoda didn't said how long will it takes for the company to return at its normal rhythm and volume of work. More, he denied the information from the local newspaper that wrote about an early recovery. The new deadline for Toyota means that the automaker giant will lose the first place in the profile top. In those new conditions, the top of the automakers will be for General Motors Co or Volkswagen AG. There is a strong possibility that Toyota Moto Corp to fall down more than one place in the top of the best automakers in the world. Above these repercussions, a lot of the Toyota popular models, such as Prius hybrid, is loosing ground in front of Hyundai Motor Co (the South Korea company) that took advantage of this crisis and they expected for several years to be ahead of Toyota.
According to the official reports, the profit on three month, January, February and March, was 570 million dollars, that is half of what the officials and the auto experts planed for this trimester. The profit from China had a big collapse, with 77 percent. The analysts made some predictions about the annual profit of Toyota in the light of this year's events. According to their statistics, the company will have 3,83 billion dollars profit this year, with less than 34 percent than the last year one. The stocks of the company in the Japanese market are down with 11 percent since the earthquake. This is a huge loss comparing with Honda's fall, of 9,9 percent, and Nissan, with 5,8 percent. The reasons that Toyota Moto Corp has such a big falling are related to the impossibility of supplying and because of that, the costumers lost their trust in the brand. The analysts excepts at a recovery next year.
